Attic Insulation Rebate In Vaughan, Ontario
Ontario attic rebates up to $1,250 may apply
Through its Home Renovation Savings program, Ontario's gas and electricity utilities have offered an attic insulation rebate topping out at $1,250 for an attic finished at R-50. Here is what the program's own pages said when we read them, so you can plan with real figures.
Last checked October 2026. The program can change its terms or close without notice, so treat homerenovationsavings.ca as the final word before any contract is signed.
Attic Insulation Rebate details
Attic Insulation Rebate Amounts Without An Assessment
No energy advisor is involved in the stand-alone attic stream. Payment is set by the attic's R-value before work begins, every reachable part of the attic has to be covered, and it must finish at R-50 or higher.
At R-12 or below to start, the ceiling is $1,250.
Above R-12 and up to R-25, the ceiling is $1,000.
Above R-25 and up to R-35, the ceiling is $800.
Sloped and flat roofs earn a smaller attic insulation rebate within this stream: $750 for a cathedral ceiling or flat roof taken from R-25 or less up to R-28, or $650 when it goes from R-12 or less up to R-20.
Whatever tier applies, the cheque cannot be larger than half of the project's after-tax price. A $1,900 job, for instance, caps the attic insulation rebate at $950 even if the attic started at R-10.
Companies On The Program's List Deliver That Attic Insulation Rebate
This attic insulation rebate is paid out only when the installer is a company on the program's roster, and that company files the paperwork for you. When we checked, the roster for the attic stream named six firms: Solidcare, Home Depot, Great Northern Insulation, George Kent, EcoComfort and Brand Insulation. The program site also states that it is not accepting new contractor registrations right now, so the list is unlikely to grow. Search the roster on homerenovationsavings.ca for a company's name before you commit to this version.
The Assessment Route Lets You Choose Your Contractor
The second version opens with a visit from a registered energy advisor and calls for at least two improvements, attic insulation plus something like windows or air sealing. On this path the homeowner picks the installer. Attic insulation rebate amounts on this path are listed as high as $1,500, $1,200 or $900, again based on where the attic starts, with $780 for a cathedral ceiling or flat roof, and a second assessment checks the finished work.
Who Qualifies For The Attic Insulation Rebate
The applicant has to own the house, and the house has to be a detached home, a semi, a row house, a townhouse that is not stacked, or a mobile home sitting on a permanent foundation. Enbridge Gas customers need an active account and a gas furnace or boiler, while houses heated by electricity, propane, oil or wood must be connected to Ontario's power grid.
Stacked townhouses are out, as is any home lived in for six months of the year or less, and so is any address where Enbridge, Save on Energy or a different provincial program has already paid toward attic insulation. A landlord may apply on a rental, and a cottage used year-round can be worth asking about.
Timing For The Attic Insulation Rebate
Companies on the roster say the attic insulation rebate program is currently scheduled to end November 30, 2026. It was pushed back once already, from the end of November 2025, and may move again, but money goes out in the order applications arrive. The official page does not post a closing date, so it is wise to move early rather than wait on another extension.

Related Attic Services
Most Vaughan attics end up needing two or three of these together.
-
Attic Insulation Top-Up
An attic insulation top-up lays fresh blown fill over whatever clean layer is already there, lifting a thin attic to about R-60 in a single visit. It fits any attic whose existing insulation is still dry and free of droppings.
-
Blown-In Fiberglass Insulation
Blown-in fiberglass insulation is fluffy glass fibre carried by air down a hose until it drifts into every bay and corner. It weighs little, never soaks up water and brings a thin attic up to current levels fast.
-
Blown-In Cellulose Insulation
Blown-in cellulose insulation is shredded recycled paper treated with borates against fire, mould and insects. Blown to the right density, this attic insulation tucks around wires and truss plates and forms a heavy, quiet layer.
-
Rodent Damaged Attic Insulation Removal
When mice, squirrels or raccoons have nested in the attic, we take out the fouled attic insulation, disinfect the bare joists and close the holes they used from inside. New insulation is installed only after that.
-
Attic Air Sealing
Attic air sealing blocks the openings between the rooms below and the attic, so heated air stays in the house and the fill above can do its job. We seal pot lights, wire holes, plumbing vents and wall tops from the attic side.
-
Attic Hatch Insulation
Attic hatch insulation seals and insulates the access panel in your ceiling. An unsealed hatch can let out more heat than a large stretch of insulated ceiling around it.
-
Cathedral Ceiling Insulation
Cathedral ceiling insulation packs the thin rafter cavity above a sloped ceiling, where there is no attic floor to work on. The method depends on how deep the rafters are, how the roof vents and how we can get inside.
-
Attic Insulation Cost
Attic insulation cost for a detached Vaughan house usually falls between $1,500 and $5,000. Job type, floor area and the state of the old fill push yours up or down that scale.
